Reported Late Surge of DACA Benefit Applications

Various reports indicate that lately increased number of DACA applicants are coming out of the closet to apply for the benefit. There could be several reasons for these changes, two of which, among others, appear to be (1) late changing survey results predicting the President Obama's electability in the November election and (2) the late USCIS announcement that the agency would not go after the relatives and past or present employers of the DACA applicants unless some egregious matters are involved.

Apparently, these two developments played important role for easing the anxieties and nervousness of the potential DACA applicants. Reportedly schools are flooded with requests for school records by these DACA applicants and their native embassies and consulates are also flooded with applicants seeking issuance of passports
