If you have not done it, please remember to add or update your I-130/NVC/I-140/I-485 case in the GC tracker: http://www.mygcvisa.com/ tracker/

It would be very useful to understand how USCIS is currently processing cases. It would also help in estimating date movements in future VB.

We will update this table as we get more data. If you are interested, the dates above are based on following data:
  • Latest I-130/I-140/I-485 Processing Statistics (see link on right side) -->

Similar to EB3 category movement, we have added a blog post for EB2 category forward movement. Please click here for FB category.

Next Steps: If priority date is current and

1. If applicant is inside US, they will have to file I-485: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2013/04/how-to-file-i-485-application.html

2. If applicant is outside US, it will be sent to NVC: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2013/09/nvc-consular-processing-steps.html

    1. Hi amazon. Do you think f2b phil will move at a similar pace as ROW towards the end of 2014 fiscal year.

I do have an understanding of how supply and demand affects PDs, but the disparity in movement is just too huge to ignore. Appreciate your help

  10. In light of the fact that F2B gets better priority date than F1, could you clarify if it is possible to do reclassification back to F2B and what steps are required in order to do that.
    Thanks.

    1. F1 category is for Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens:

F2B category is for the Unmarried Sons and Daughters (21 years of age or older) of Permanent Residents:

If you qualify for F2B category, you should apply for it.

    2. The question of interest is regarding those, who applied as F2B, and were converted to F1 while waiting when their parents became citizens.
Is it possible for such people to request reclassification back to F2B and if it is possible, how exactly it is done? Are there any forms?

      Delete
    3. Let me illustrate it:
"Under Section 6 of the CSPA, the applicant can request exemption from the automatic conversion of the visa category from F2B to F1 by submitting to the Department of Homeland Security/U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (DHS/USCIS) a written statement that he elects to have such conversion revoked."
      http://blogs.usembassy.gov/philippines/?p=356
The question is: is there some particular form of doing it or just a letter in which one must state "I elect to have such conversion revoced"? What is the address for such a letter? Can anyone in such position do it or is it only for some exceptional cases?

  11. Hi amazon! I have a question my PD is July 2008; in light of the big eb3 jump for the philippines do you think my PD will be current this year? Because if the movement will be 4 to 6 months per month, then that qould mean mine would be current september of this year... Thanks amazon..

  16. Hi there Amazon

I just started following your blog (added to my day-to-day fav web list). I am amazed (from the comments) that your predictions are very accurate. I see that you predicted Indian EB2 Visa bulletin movement will be around February 2009 somewhere in July.

Our PD is Feb 2011. What is your best guess about our PD getting current?

I am hoping you reply to my comment. Anyway, Thanks again for helping out all immigrants with your knowledge.

    1. You are welcome. EB2 Indi has a large amount of applicants compared to available quota. Hence it is not possible to estimate that far (based on current data). I would recommend reading this two-part blog post It should answer many questions:

    2. On USCIS website, priority date definition said "if alien relative has a priority date on or before the date listed on visa bulletin, she or he will be eligible for a visa".....

      It's really confused....

      Anyone has encountered this situation?

      Thanks

    3. You will have to wait for next forward movement. If visa bulletin date is 01OCT12, it means applicants with priority date BEFORE 01OCT12 can apply.

As per officer attended the proceeding our pending petition will not jeopardy this scenario. Is this true? Do we need a waiver or not? What kind of Waiver? Cannot see any waiver needed for our case.

  32. F-1 visa is fairly simple to apply for and lets you stay & travel throughout the U.S as long as you are a student and also provides you opportunity to bring your Spouse and any children under the age of 21 into the country while you are here studying.
