November 2015 Visa Bulletin Predictions

For October 2015 Visa Bulletin, please click here: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2015/09/october-2015-visa-bulletin.html

Please see November 2015 Visa Bulletin Predictions below (for both Family Based and Employment Based):

Starting from October 2015 visa bulletin, DOS has decided to break its visa bulletin into two categories. The first category is "final action date" which is same as the previous visa bulletin. Dates in this category is when USCIS will start approving I-485 application.

The second category is "dates for filing visa application". The dates in this category is when applicants can start filing their I-485 application. This will be useful since applicant can file EAD application and after 180 days can change employer even if PD is not current.

The data below is for "final action date".

If you have not done it, please remember to add or update your I-130/NVC/I-140/I-485 case in the Free GC tracker: http://www.mygcvisa.com/ tracker/

It would be very useful to understand how USCIS is currently processing these cases. It would also help in estimating date movements in future visa bulletin.

We will update this table as we get more data from USCIS. If you are interested, the dates above are based on following data:
  • Latest I-130/I-140/I-485 Processing Statistics (see link on right side) -->

Similar to EB3 category movement, we have added a blog post for EB2 category forward movement. Please click here for FB category.

Next Steps: If priority date is current and

1. If applicant is inside US, they will have to file I-485: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2013/04/how-to-file-i-485-application.html

2. If applicant is outside US, it will be sent to NVC: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2013/09/nvc-consular-processing-steps.html

    1. that probably means they will take your fingerprints on the day of the interview at the consulate. But to be on the safe side call your consulate and ask them.

    1. I wanted to know that my PD is 22 dec 2014 and as of now the current pd for India is 15th May 2014. We have read online that PD till march 2015 can start with the process for the paperwork wef 1st Oct 2015 when the letters are rolled out.Can anyone elaborate on what this new process is?
Another question I had who starts with the NVC processing me or my husband (he is the one in the US) a little unsure about this as well.
      Thanks in advance

    2. The March 2015 filing only concerns for the people who are adjusting status while inside the US. You do the processing through USCIS and not NVC. Are you the beneficiary? If so, you cannot adjust since you are outside of the US.

    3. Yes I am the beneficiary. In this case since I am outside the US we would require for the PD to get current and wait the confirmation from the local embassy to begin with the process. Right?

    4. No. What happens is that once your case has been approved by the USCIS it is transferred to the NVC. The NVC holds your case for some time until your priority date is at least 6 months away from being current. They contact you through email with something called a ''welcome letter.' This welcome letter asks you to pay some fees and to file some more paperwork and the online visa application. Once all this is done your case is deemed completed by the NVC. Then, a month before your PD becomes current they schedule your interview and contact you through email yet again. After they have scheduled your interview they send all of your documents to the consulate of your country.

    1. it takes them a while for them to answer emails; around 30 days. You can call them at (603) 334-0700. Although it is hard to get through to a representative due to the high volume of callers. This is all so they can give you your invoice and case number but don't worry since they probably won't start processing your case in a while.

    3. they will contact you through email with something called a ''welcome letter'.' This letter allows you to pay fees and submit documents to the NVC for further processing. It might take a while before they start processing your case, though. Be patient.
