For the official January 2016 Visa Bulletin, please click here: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2015/12/january-2016-visa-bulletin.html

Please see January 2016 Visa Bulletin Predictions below (for both Family Based and Employment Based):

Starting from October 2015 visa bulletin, DOS has decided to break its visa bulletin into two categories. The first category is "final action date" which is same as the previous visa bulletin. Dates in this category is when USCIS will start approving I-485 application.

The second category is "dates for filing visa application". The dates in this category is when applicants can start filing their I-485 application. This will be useful since applicant can file EAD application and after 180 days can change employer even if PD is not current.

The data below is for "final action date".

If you have not done it, please remember to add or update your I-130/NVC/I-140/I-485 case in the free GC tracker: http://www.mygcvisa.com/ tracker/

It would be very useful to understand how USCIS is currently processing these cases. It would also help in estimating date movements in future visa bulletin.

We will update this table as we get more data from USCIS. If you are interested, the dates above are based on following data:

Similar to EB3 category movement, we have added a blog post for EB2 category forward movement. Please click here for FB category.

Next Steps: If priority date is current and

1. If applicant is inside US, they will have to file I-485: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2013/04/how-to-file-i-485-application.html

2. If applicant is outside US, it will be sent to NVC: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2013/09/nvc-consular-processing-steps.html

    1. Hi, if the person who is requesting you is a US citizen you may qualify under the Child Protection Law as a minor (under 21). If your petitioner was a Resident, you may still qualify is your petitioner became a US citizen since then. Otherwise, I think you go to the next category of F2B.

  4. Hi. My PD is June 2009. It became current for several months last year (2014), and my papers have been sent to NVC. However, i was faced with a difficult family situation during that time when my agent notified me to prepare all the needed documents such as IELTS and Visascreen which i did not have yet at that time. Anyway, last June I took and passed the IELTS and awaiting for my visascreen certificate at the moment. I have already paid the IV application fee (NVC) and finished the DS online application. All my other documents required by NVC are ready except for Visascreen certificate at this time. Once completed, will NVC process my papers and schedule me for an interview by virtue of the 2014 visa bulletin when my PD became current or should I wait anew till my PD become current again before NVC begin consular processing?
