Department of State (DOS) added their prediction for visa bulletin in coming months. Please see the link below.
We will be adding a separate blog post for visa bulletin prediction for fiscal year 2014.
FAMILY-sponsored categories (potential monthly movement)
Worldwide dates:
- F1: Three to five weeks
- F2A: No forward movement, the Mexico cut-off date is likely to retrogress at some point
- F2B: Three to five weeks
- F3: Three to five weeks
- F4: Two or three weeks
EMPLOYMENT-based categories (potential monthly movement)
Employment First: Current
Employment Second:
- Worldwide: Current
- China: Three to five weeks
- India: No forward movement
Employment Third:
- Worldwide: This cut-off date has been advanced extremely rapidly during the past seven months in an effort to generate new demand. As the rate of applicants who are able to have action on their cases finalized increases, it could have a significant impact on the cut-off date situation. The rapid forward movement of this cut-off date should not be expected to continue beyond February.
- China: Expected to remain at the worldwide date
- India: No forward movement
- Mexico: Expected to remain at the worldwide date
- Philippines: Three to six weeks
Employment Fourth: Current
Employment Fifth: Current
The above projections for the Family and Employment categories are for what is likely to happen during each of the next few months based on current applicant demand patterns.
Readers should never assume that recent trends in cut-off date movements are guaranteed for the future, or that "corrective" action will not be required at some point in an effort to maintain number use within the applicable annual limits.
The determination of the actual monthly cut-off dates is subject to fluctuations in applicant demand and a number of other variables. Unless indicated, those categories with a "Current" projection will remain so for the foreseeable future.
RETROGRESSION OF EMPLOYMENT CUT-OFF DATES
The India Employment Second and Third preference category cut-off dates were advanced very rapidly at the end of fiscal year 2013. Those movements were based strictly on the availability of thousands of "otherwise unused" numbers which could be made available without regard to the preference per-country annual limits.
The movements have resulted in a dramatic increase in the level of applicant demand received in recent months. This has required the retrogression of those cut-off dates for December in an effort to hold number use within the numerical limits.
First - thanks for all the effort you are putting into this site.
ReplyDeleteregarding the EB3ROW saying "The rapid forward movement of this cut-off date should not be expected to continue beyond February" - would that mean that they expect Jan14 bulletin to go 11-12 months forward, maybe a bit less, then on Feb continue with "normal" month progress every bulletin, or do they mean that Jan14 would have some minor forward movement, and then Feb-Sep no movement, or even retrogression?
My guess would be smaller forward movements instead of one big movement and then possible retrogression.
DeleteI really wish DOS publishes the Demand data for FB categories. That way it would be easier to guesstimate about dates for entire 2014.
ReplyDeleteNot satisfied withfamily based movement
ReplyDeleteuntil when do you think f2a will remain at it's current date amazon?and if it will retrogress, how far?thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhen you say " The rapid forward movement of this cut-off date should not be expected to continue beyond February." Do you mean the rapid movement will stop, and the regular 3 weeks/month movement will comtinue, or do you mean it will completely block or retrogress? I know it's hard to say, but can you please give me your best bet? I am March 2012 EB3 ROW, Thank you
ReplyDeleteHi, I think you will be current in next two vb
DeleteI certainly hope so! :)
DeleteI am not sure, I think the demand will be super high now. I know many friends who became current in this move. There is a huge backlog here because this was immediately after recession and companies were holding back from applying to all employees since 2008
DeleteThe actual forward movement will depend on demand in each category. We will have to wait for updated data from USCIS.
DeleteHi
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when Dec 2012 will be current?

Hi.how about with eb3 phils pd oct2007?When do u think wud become current? Thank you
ReplyDeleteAs of this time, it would be very difficult to prognosticate all the way to that date. If you look at the EB3-Philippines I-485 pending inventory, they haven't even fully accounted for all the applications submitted from August, 2007 onwards.
DeleteAnonymous - To estimate when priority date can be current, please see this GC Calculator: http://www.mygcvisa.com/calculator

Employment Based, Third Preference (EB3): Worldwide, China, and Mexico
The EB3 worldwide category advanced considerably in FY13, and this is expected to continue in FY14. The DOS says it is necessary to generate new filings in the EB3 worldwide category. Thus, it is expected that there will be advancement of the cutoff date by up to a year in the December 2013 Visa Bulletin. The DOS further expects to be able to continue to advance the cutoff date, although less dramatically, in January, February, and possibly, March 2014. EB3 cutoff dates for China and Mexico will match the worldwide cutoff date.

Employment Third:
Worldwide: This cut-off date has been advanced extremely rapidly during the past seven months in an effort to generate new demand. As the rate of applicants who are able to have action on their cases finalized increases, it could have a significant impact on the cut-off date situation. The rapid forward movement of this cut-off date should not be expected to continue beyond February.

ReplyDeleteHi Amazon,I have been petitioned by my US citizen parent. My priority date is February 2007 (F1 family preference category-ROW).I checked visa bulletin and my priority date should be current soon.I have three small kids and they are listed on my petition as dependents. My kids will not be able to travel and stay in the USA without their mother. My question is, what is the best (earliest) way i can get the mother of my children to travel with us? My petitioner told me that when i attend my visa interview to tell the interviewing officer that i would like the mother of my kids to join us,and the officer will tell me to get married to my partner and send in my marriage certificate. They will then process my wife's papers and she will get to join us on the petition. We will then be reschedule for another interview within three months and get to travel together.Did my petitioner got it right? Please help me with some answers if this is not correct. Thank you
