In addition, you can now check your case status at USCIS/NVC as well as check the latest processing time from the same page.

PS: We have also updated the GC Tracker (including follow/comment feature).
Let us know if there is anything else you would like to add to the site.
Also the government shutdown ended on October 17. All government agencies would now be open. The deal was to to postpone making the decision on budget and debt ceiling till Jan 2014.
So there is a chance that Congress would be busy with these two issues. As many of you know, President Obama has started pushing Immigration Reform now. Check out the latest immigration news:

Thank you Amazon. That is very helpful.
ReplyDeleteYour GC calculator doesnt work for EB2I.
ReplyDeleteThere are currently too many unknowns in EB2 India category to accurately estimate the date.
DeleteThank you Amazon, BTW, my pd is Jan.2013 eb3row, when do you think I can submit 485?
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest you try to port... Let first have folks from 2011 and 201 submit then you ll be there somewhere after that,
DeleteThx for your reply...Don't want to port because it need me find a new job then file perm again >.<....Do you think I can submit 485 by end of next year?
DeleteYou can port with your existing employer (if you meet few criterias). Please see the blog post on right side under I-485 FAQ for porting from EB3 to EB2.
DeleteI submited an I 130 petition for my husband in February, and the only thing that I have received is the reciept, how much longer can this take? My lawyer said it my husband could be in the U.S. anywhere from 6-10 months but by the looks of it that won't be the case
ReplyDeleteI would recommend checking out the GC tracker. It will give you a good idea of how long each step can take. You can also add your case to the tracker.
