If you have not done it, please remember to add or update your I-130/NVC/I-140/I-485 case in the GC tracker: http://www.mygcvisa.com/ tracker/

It would be very useful to understand how USCIS is currently processing cases. It would also help in estimating date movements in future VB.

We will update this table as we get more data. If you are interested, the dates above are based on following data:
  • Latest I-130/I-140/I-485 Processing Statistics (see link on right side) -->

Similar to EB3 category movement, we have added a blog post for EB2 category forward movement. Please click here for FB category.

Next Steps: If priority date is current and

1. If applicant is inside US, they will have to file I-485: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2013/04/how-to-file-i-485-application.html

2. If applicant is outside US, it will be sent to NVC: http://blog.mygcvisa.com/2013/09/nvc-consular-processing-steps.html

  1. Hi Amazon! Do you think its possible for those who have EB3 (Phil) with 2014 priority dates to be current this fiscal year?

    1. I think there is a possibility, as long as the demand is low, which is kind of what is happening right now. When the demand goes up again it may be necessary to do corrective action - retrogress or slowdown the priority date movement - EB3 Phils here too

    1. maybe this is

his new or one year old The
U.S. Senate finally releases its version of a Comprehensive Immigration Reform
      (CIR) bill today. The Border
Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013 proposes
to reform many aspects of the current immigration policy, including the
creation of a new Registered Provisional Immigrant Status (RPI) for the
undocumented immigrants. The prerequisite is that the border must be secured
first before any RPI petition will be approved. The following are the
highlights of the most important proposed changes:
      Family-sponsored Immigration

Reduce the current four family preference categories
      to two categories only: Unmarried adult children (of U.S. citizens);
married adult children (of U.S. citizens) who file before age 31, and
unmarried adult children of lawful permanent residents.

Lawful permanent residents will be able to petition
for their spouses and minor children (currently F2A) without regard to
visa numbers – just like U.S. citizens can do now.

The current F4 preference category will be
eliminated 18 months after the law is enacted – meaning that U.S. citizens
will no longer be able to petition for their brothers and sisters.

The Diversity Visa Program (“Visa Lottery”) will be
      eliminated after FY2014.

of employment in a related field and the qualifying degree was earned in

    SOURCE: http://www.imperialvalleynews.com/index.php/news/national-news/665-the-president-s-immigration-accountability-executive-actions.html

Reuniting families by eliminating the backlog of family-based visas. Current family immigrant visa backlogs can separate family members for years and even decades.
Family-based immigration is the most common pathway to the United States for Asian immigrants. In 2013, nearly 221,000 Asian immigrants became green card holders through petitions filed by their U.S. citizen or permanent resident family members.
As of November 1, 2014, there were approximately 1.8 million Asian family-based immigrant visa applicants waiting to join their families. Immigrant visa applicants born in mainland China and India must wait up to 12 years depending on their visa category. Immigrant visa applicants born in the Philippines must wait up to 23 years depending on their visa category. Some 54% of Asian Americans surveyed in 2012 said that visa backlogs presented a significant problem for their families.
The Senate bill would eliminate the visa backlog, in part by exempting spouses and unmarried children of LPRs from annual limitations on family-sponsored green cards, treating them like spouses and children of U.S. citizens.
By adopting backlog reduction measures and increasing the limit on the number of immigrants allowed each year from individual countries, the Senate bill would eliminate current family visa backlogs in seven years and reducing future wait times for nations with the highest rates of immigration to the United States.

  33. 12/11/2014: Yesterday, Democratic Senate Full Judiciary Committee Held a Hearing on S. 744, Yes, You Read it Right, S. 744 (CIR)

Probably, this was a last hearing for the Senate Judiciary before the Democratic leaders in the Senate lose their majority voice on Comprehensive Immigration Reform Legislation. The title of the hearing was : "Keeping Families Together: The President’s Executive Action On Immigration And The Need To Pass Comprehensive Reform." Readers, do you see the difference between the focus of this hearing and the plan of the Republican House Judiciary Chairman's statement yesterday on immigration reform initiatives coming early 2015? Senate Judiciary hearing focused on the Democratic constituency and its political stake of family immigration, relief for undocumented immigrants, and "comprehensive" reform, while the House Judiciary Chairman's focus was on border security, employment-based legal immigration system reforms in priorities, and piecemeal reforms. When the Congress returns next January and on, readers will witness immigration reform legislative moves with these two conflicting agenda by the two political parties.
Here are the list of witnesses who testified in the Senate Judiciary hearing yesterday:

12/17/2014: State Department to Release Immigrant Visa Movement Predictions in the February 2015 Visa Bulletin

According to the AILA, Mr. Oppenheim is expected to release this valuable information in February Visa Bulletin for the immigrant visa waiters in all different categories and in all different countries. Since the February Visa Bulletin is expected to be released in the first two weeks of January 2015, immigrants will be able to get the information fairly soon. However, there appears to be no exciting information for EB-2 immigrants since the changes usually happen only the last quarter (July-September) of a fiscal year not to waste any visa numbers. But who knows? Please wait and see. "
