Hi Amazon! Do you think its possible for those who have EB3 (Phil) with 2014 priority dates to be current this fiscal year?
ReplyDeleteI think there is a possibility, as long as the demand is low, which is kind of what is happening right now. When the demand goes up again it may be necessary to do corrective action - retrogress or slowdown the priority date movement - EB3 Phils here too

ReplyDeleteThis bill will never come in to the house and it will never pass.., don't keep any hope on the bill, now there is no option available for F2A, All the F2A applicants have to wait atleast 2 years, just we have to look for the visa bulletin every month..... very sad to separate husband and wife for more than 2 years..... mind blowing procedure and law.....

first before any RPI petition will be approved. The following are the
highlights of the most important proposed changes:

married adult children (of U.S. citizens) who file before age 31, and
unmarried adult children of lawful permanent residents.
Lawful permanent residents will be able to petition

Reuniting families by eliminating the backlog of family-based visas. Current family immigrant visa backlogs can separate family members for years and even decades.
Family-based immigration is the most common pathway to the United States for Asian immigrants. In 2013, nearly 221,000 Asian immigrants became green card holders through petitions filed by their U.S. citizen or permanent resident family members.
As of November 1, 2014, there were approximately 1.8 million Asian family-based immigrant visa applicants waiting to join their families. Immigrant visa applicants born in mainland China and India must wait up to 12 years depending on their visa category. Immigrant visa applicants born in the Philippines must wait up to 23 years depending on their visa category. Some 54% of Asian Americans surveyed in 2012 said that visa backlogs presented a significant problem for their families.
The Senate bill would eliminate the visa backlog, in part by exempting spouses and unmarried children of LPRs from annual limitations on family-sponsored green cards, treating them like spouses and children of U.S. citizens.
By adopting backlog reduction measures and increasing the limit on the number of immigrants allowed each year from individual countries, the Senate bill would eliminate current family visa backlogs in seven years and reducing future wait times for nations with the highest rates of immigration to the United States.

12/17/2014: State Department to Release Immigrant Visa Movement Predictions in the February 2015 Visa Bulletin
According to the AILA, Mr. Oppenheim is expected to release this valuable information in February Visa Bulletin for the immigrant visa waiters in all different categories and in all different countries. Since the February Visa Bulletin is expected to be released in the first two weeks of January 2015, immigrants will be able to get the information fairly soon. However, there appears to be no exciting information for EB-2 immigrants since the changes usually happen only the last quarter (July-September) of a fiscal year not to waste any visa numbers. But who knows? Please wait and see. "

ReplyDeleteMy PD is Nov 27, 2013 (F2A). After my i-130 got approved I received a letter from NVC that my date is not current and thye will reach out to me when it is. I had no communication from them till now.
My question is how many months before your PD goes current does NVC reach out to you asking you to begin the paper work? Or can i go ahead and begin the work as I have the NVC case number from their initial communication to me.
